Key Themes and Breakthrough Discussions

This year’s GSNT focused on a broad spectrum of themes, including nanomedicine, nanoelectronics, 2D materials, quantum dots, and nanorobotics. A major emphasis was placed on interdisciplinary applications, with sessions highlighting nanotechnology's role in next-gen energy storage, AI hardware, biomedical diagnostics, and advanced manufacturing. Keynote addresses were delivered by global pioneers such as Prof. Xiaodong Chen (NUS) and Dr. Maria de la Fuente (INL), both emphasizing the need for scalable, ethical, and sustainable nanotech solutions.

Startup Spotlight and Industry Collaboration

One of the major highlights was the "Nano StartUp Arena", where emerging companies from biotech, clean energy, and materials science sectors pitched disruptive technologies to investors and R&D stakeholders. Major corporations like BASF, IBM, and Samsung also participated in exclusive panels discussing commercialization strategies, global policy alignment, and supply chain resilience for nanotech-based products.

Young Scientists and Global Networking

GSNT 2025 saw a record number of young scientists and graduate researchers present their papers and posters. The event featured mentoring sessions, panel discussions, and best paper awards aimed at nurturing the next generation of nanoscience leaders. Additionally, a dedicated Women in Nanotech forum emphasized gender equity and leadership in STEM.

Sustainability, Policy, and the Road Ahead

Several panels focused on regulatory frameworks, nanoethics, and sustainable innovation. Experts called for tighter integration between scientific progress and environmental responsibility, especially as nanomaterials enter commercial supply chains. The summit closed with the announcement that GSNT 2026 will be hosted in Kyoto, Japan, continuing its mission to bridge science, innovation, and global progress.
